The Board of Directors is comprised of 12 members, including many experts in fields such as: teaching, child development, speech pathology, law, marketing and finance.
Nan Parks McCarthy, the
executive director, was a founder of Up On Top and had served as a Board member
from 2001-2007. Previously, she was a founder and an executive director of
Habitat for Humanity San Francisco.
The Staff
All after-school-program staff meet the qualifications specified by Community Care Licensing in California, which includes a minimum of mandatory early childhood education credits.
John
Pabst, the program director, oversees the day-to-day operations of
the program at the main campus from 3 pm to 6 pm, daily and supervises five
teachers and staff. John has worked as a teacher and program coordinator for 12
years and holds a B.A. in the humanities and a teaching credential from San
Francisco State University.
Will
Paris, the director of the Comprehensive Youth Development Program,
has eight years of experience in the field of youth development and community
advocacy. He holds B.A. in urban studies in education from the State University
of New York at Buffalo.
Roxanne Webb supervises the Achievers Academy and holds a B.S. in biology from California State University San Bernardino.
She has worked with several after school programs and is working on a master’s degree in early childhood education.
Sally Swope, the development director,
holds a master’s degree in Asian studies from Case Western Reserve University.
Volunteers. At least one carefully
screened volunteer is present daily to support the staff. |
